Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. (SSGC) released a public service announcement to dismiss any gas disruption plan for 6 months through its social media network.
“An image under the heading Public Notice carrying fake news is circulating in the media and social media, attributing baseless information about Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. (SSGC). The company emphatically denies the content of this fake news/image.”
The public and relevant authorities were greatly concerned by false and misleading information spread by a message that circulated on various social and news platforms. According to the message, due to a rising shortage of natural gas, the SSGC has established a strategy to continue supplying gas to its customers on a planned schedule in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
Regarding the expected gas load-shedding in Sindh and Balochistan in the winter, Minister of State Musadik Masood Malik confirmed that load-shedding hours are not yet planned. However, he has ordered the gas supply in all cases during cooking hours. He confirmed that, like last year, gas shutdown during winter meal times is not acceptable; therefore, Sui Southern’s planning is in progress.
The rumor of load shedding for 18 hours a day starting October 15 is false and fake. It was planned but has been postponed, an SSGC official confirmed.
