Eoin Morgan was named England captain in 2015 as the team prepared for the World Cup. Then, with the worst defeat, the team was eliminated in the first round. After this, Morgan made England a great power in ODIs and T20s and made up for the 2015 World Cup performance.

The transition from Ireland to England was very easy for Morgan. A player representing a Test-playing country will have to wait at least three years if he wants to play for another country. But since Ireland was then an associate member of the ICC, a condition that could not apply to Irish players.

In 2007, he played for England as the 12th player in the Lord’s Test against the West Indies. However, his debut for England came in May 2009, when he played in the ODI series against the West Indies. In other words, Morgan is one of the players who got the honour of representing two countries.

Morgan holds the record for most 225 ODIs played for England. He scored 7701 runs, which is also a national record. He scored 744 for Ireland and 6957 for England. He also scored one of his 14 ODI centuries for Ireland.

England came closer to the victory but the matter went to score three runs on the last ball to win the match. There was no sound in the stadium when Ashok Dinda came to bowl the last ball and Morgan ended the game with a brilliant six. His innings of 49 on 26 balls also levelled the series.

It gave England a target of 350 runs, but again Eoin Morgan scored 113 on just 82 balls which helped England break the record in 44 overs. Morgan shared a 198-run partnership with Joe Root.
